Missing senior dog is very happy when he hugs his mother again

When Miles first disappeared, his family was in great distress. Apparently, the puppy somehow managed to escape in the middle of an oversight through an open door and, despite the efforts of his family, they could not find his whereabouts. Miles is an older dog and his vision is limited, so after six weeks of no word on his whereabouts, his family feared the worst.

Luckily, Miles was microchipped and was found by people who took him to the Fulton County shelter, run by the LifeLine Animal Project . The shelter scanned him for a microchip and immediately contacted his family, they couldn’t believe the news, it was the call they had been waiting for and they were more than grateful.

Lauren Ruiz, public relations specialist for the LifeLine Animal Project told The Dodo :

“His owner broke down in tears when they told her Miles had been found and he was at the shelter in 30 minutes.”

It is unknown how Miles managed to survive on his own for six weeks, but luckily the pup is very strong. He was dirty and badly needed a bath, but none of that mattered when he and his mother were reunited.

Lauren remembers:

“She was elated and excited when she met Miles. Although scared and shocked by being separated from her, Miles visibly relaxed and felt instantly at ease once he realized he was back in the arms of his family.”

When he arrived in the shelter’s care, Miles was confused and nervous, but as soon as he was back in his mom’s arms, it was all behind him. After six weeks away from home, their bond was much stronger.

Thanks to his microchip and the people who found him on the streets, Miles is now back home with his family. And while he’s been through a terrible ordeal, the family is confident that with a little rest, care and lots of pampering, the sweet furry will be his old self again.
