Meet the new kitten’s babies ❤️🩹 They came to under devastating circumstances, but I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to help them.
Meet kitten Thumper, kitten Fern, kitten Sprout, and kitten Bumblebee 🐰🪴🌱🐝 I thought they deserved adorable spring names after everything they went through.
ICYMI: On Monday I received a call about 4 kittens who were rescued from a house fire. Fire fighters brought the kittens, along with their mom and 3 other cats to a local vet clinic for treatment. The kittens are actually the only ones who didn’t suffer major injuries and that is because their mom – Freya – laid on top of them to shield them from the smoke.
Devastatingly, Freya and 2 of the other cats did not make it due to the extent of their smoke inhalation. The remaining cat is still hospitalized and considered to be in critical condition. In addition to the survivors, there were 20+ cats who did not make it out of the fire. Thankfully though, no humans were injured.
The kittens are doing well so far and don’t seem to have any major concerns aside from being dirty and sneezing a bit. I don’t know what their future holds, but they are alive today because of their incredible mom who sacrificed herself to save them. I wish more than anything that she could have been saved too, but all I can do now is love her babies as much as she did.
I took these kittens on independently, so if you would like to help cover the cost of their care, please consider making a donation ❤️ Any extra funds will be donated to Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter, who took the adult cats from the fire.
kitten Sprout is just a bit ✨dramatic✨ Which Sprout Skreem™️ do you identify most with today? I’m feeling a solid 5 😆
kitten Fern could use some words of support and good vibes right now ❤️🩹 He developed diarrhea over the past few days and seemingly hasn’t been able to digest any food, which led to him crashing this afternoon. I’ve started him on fluids, antibiotics, and am tube feeding him, but he’s still really struggling. This came on really fast and seemingly out of nowhere, but I’m hoping more than anything that he can beat this. I love you Fern 😭❤️
